Effects can be seen within three to five days and the full outcome noted in two weeks. Results must be maintained with repeated treatments approximately every three to six months.

Does it hurt?
The majority of patients are completely comfortable.
Everyone is different and you may feel some discomfort during treatment that will quickly disappear.
Are there any side effects?
With any injectable treatment there is small chance of minor side effects.
Most commonly, this may involve bruising, selling, redness, tenderness, itching and sensitivity at treatment sites, which typically subsides after 48 hours.
Any potential side effects will be discussed with your doctor during consultation and how to take care of these areas to reduce risks.

How do I take care of the treatment sites?
Post-treatment care will be discussed in depth with your doctor:
- Avoid heat inducing activities for 48 hours such as strenuous exercise, spas, saunas and steam rooms
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours on treatment sites
- Avoid medicines such as Aspirin as this can increase bruising and bleeding
- Do not rub the treated sites and avoid touching the face on the day of treatment
- Use a cold pack or Arnica gel if bruising occurs
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
- Avoid flying for 48 hours
- Avoid active cosmeceutical products (AHAs, retinols, vitamin C) on the night of treatment
- Avoid facials, waxing, chemical peels, skin needling, microdermabrasion, IPL or laser treatments for 2 weeks after treatment
- Lightly cleanse on the day of treatment using light pressure and use SPF

What results can I expect?
Life-softening injections work by relaxing the muscles in the face that cause lines and wrinkles over time. In other cases, they relax the muscles that cause tooth clenching, migraines and a wide, achey jaw and stop sweat glands producing excessive underarm sweat.
Lines will appear softer, skin can appear tighter and overall you will look more radiant post-treatment. Where the jaw muscles are treated, your jawline will appear slimmer and you will notice less migraines and a less sore jaw. Where the underarms are treated, you will notice you are sweating significantly less.
Treatment plans are bespoke and therefore results vary person-to-person.
Is it safe?
At Pine Dental & Aesthetics, we use one of the safest, FDA approved medicines to treat our patients – Botox by Allergan.
Botulinum Toxin A is prescription only and can therefore only be administered by a Doctor, Dentist or prescribing Nurse.
We do not offer muscle-relaxing treatments to those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
