Frequently Asked Questions
Profhilo® treatment is administered through very fine needles and often more comfortable than other injectable treatments.
Everyone is different and you may feel some discomfort during treatment that will quickly disappear.
With any injectable treatment there is small chance of minor side effects.
Most commonly, this may involve redness, swelling or tenderness in treated areas as well as small bumps at the point of injection, which typically subsides after 48 hours.
Any potential side effects will be discussed with your doctor during consultation and how to take care of these areas to reduce risks.

Post-treatment care will be discussed in depth with your doctor:
- It is normal for lumps to be left at all injection sites. Profhilo works by slowly spreading to create a thin sheet of moisturiser underneath the skin between 24-48 hours after treatment. In this time, the lumps will flatten and subside.
- Avoid heat inducing activities for 48 hours such as strenuous exercise, spas, saunas and steam rooms
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours on treatment sites
- Avoid medicines such as Aspirin as this can increase bruising and bleeding
- Do not rub the treated sites and avoid touching the face on the day of treatment
- Use a cold pack or Arnica gel if bruising occurs
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
- Avoid active cosmeceutical products (AHAs, retinols, vitamin C) on the night of treatment
- Avoid facials, waxing, chemical peels, skin needling, microdermabrasion, IPL or laser treatments for 2 weeks after treatment
- Lightly cleanse on the day of treatment using light pressure and use SPF
A course of treatment with a minimum of three sessions spaced one-month apart is necessary for optimal results.
Results must be maintained every 3-6 months.
